Update - FOX Sports 1 to Air 12 UFC quot;Fight Nightsquot; on Wednesdays Starting in August

Details are now coming out regarding how UFC content will be handled once the FOX umbrella switches their sports content over to a new station, FOX Sports 1. The switch will take place in August, and Sports Illustrated reporter Richard Deitsch has been tweeting updates on the new channel.

FOX Sports 1 will air UFC "Fight Nights" on Wednesdays, with 12 of these live events airing from the launch in August throughout the rest of 2013. The cards will air from 8pm-11pm. These will most likely replace the current "UFC on FX" series.

Also, the "UFC Tonight" news show currently on FUEL will move to FOX Sports 1 and air on Wednesdays as well, from 7:30pm-8pm EST. This is a big upgrade for the show.

FOX Sports 1 will be available in roughly 90 million homes. For comparison, FX and Spike are available in about 99 million homes.

*Update* - The news is now official. Included in the new UFC content listed above will be UFC PPV Prelims and FOX prelims. So basically everything that used to be on FX is now going to be on FOX Sports 1
