Fifth annual Texas College Legacy Dinner set for Friday

Texas College will have its fifth annual Legacy Dinner on Friday.

During the dinner, which raises money for student scholarships, the college recognizes people who have given of themselves to benefit education.

This year?s legacy honorees are: U.S. Rep. Ralph M. Hall; B.J. Hornbostel of United Heritage Credit Union; H. Lanier Richey (posthumously) and Marilyn Richey; Rose City Civitan Club represented by President Charles Booker; and Texas College alumnus Dr. Bobby J. Stinson.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with a reception and is followed by dinner and a program at 7 p.m. at Harvey Convention Center, 2000 W. Front St. It is a black-tie affair.

The program will include a presentation of video interviews with the honorees as well as the awards presentation.

Christie Howard, Texas College?s public relations director, said more than 400 people are expected to attend.

Marc Gomes, actor, director, producer and humanitarian, will serve as the honorary chairman. Dia Wall, a news anchor and producer, will serve as mistress of ceremonies, according to information provided by the college.
