Nokia Lumia 800 has been spotted in a video which shows the device to be running the Windows Phone 7.8 operating system. The Lumia 800 was announced back in October, alongside Lumia 710. Both Lumia 800 and 710 received the Tango update in June that introduced new features such as Tethering, flip to silence and access to new apps.

The Lumia 800 is now seen running the Windows Phone 7.8 on Polish Windows Phone forum WindowsMania. Windows Phone users might have been disappointed with Microsoft's announcement that the existing Windows phones would not be getting the Windows Phone 8 update.

"This came as a disappointment to many, but Microsoft was there for the consolation by offering Windows Phone 7.8 for existing WP devices, bringing the new updated home screen with smaller tile sizes and possibly some other features of WP8," claims the XDA Developers' forum.

The new home screen seems to be an improvement over Windows Phone 7.5. Both Lumia 800 and 710 are the company's first smartphones powered by Windows Phone.

The Tango update in Lumia 800 allows users to share their mobile internet connection via Wi-Fi with up to five other smartphones or PCs. A flip to silence will turn your device face down thereby silencing incoming calls. Users could avail themselves of some new Nokia apps from the Windows Phone Marketplace including Camera Extras. It improves the camera capabilities of the smartphone. Camera Extras features a Smart Group Shot that will allow you to capture group photos with a single attempt. Possibly, with a single click, you can capture five photos.
