School is almost out. What are your plans for the summer? Will you be getting your new college student ready to make the transition from home to the dorm? Make sure they have a copy of The 4-1-1 on Life Skills!
Do your plans include making arrangements for daycare, camp or vacation bible school(s)? If you have more than one child, it may be more cost effective for you to hire a sitter to come to your home, than to pay for multiple children at a daycare. Make sure to spend some one-on-one time with your children this summer. Raising children is all about making good memories.
If you are a step parent and will be having the step children more than what you had them during the school year, make sure to plan some fun activities for everyone to do together. With this economy it is hard to take a family vacation, however it can be fun to explore your own city and neighborhood and do things close to home. Have a scavenger hunt in your neighborhood and include the neighbors. Having fun doesn?t have to cost a lot of money. Make sure to get your copy of The 4-1-1 on Step Parenting for other ideas.
Summer is often a time for many weddings. Are your young adults ready for this big step? Make sure you look into purchasing wedding insurance. Sounds crazy I know, but it can save you a lot of money!
Summer is also when Hurricanes are likely to hit so make sure that your insurance policy is up to date. Purchase renters insurance if you do not already have it. Your landlord will not cover your personal items!
Whatever your plans are for the summer, stay safe, have a great time and make sure to come back and let us know what you did!
